Base image

Base image for ubuntu server and xubuntu are provided, here are how they’re created

Basics

Install virt-manager on a linux machine, this procedure has been tested on xubuntu 16.04.1.

ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS server

fix hostname

disable network interface persistent naming

edit /etc/default/grub

Only for the graphical

sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop x11vnc && service lightdm restart
